James Stevens, president-elect of the American Academy of Neurology, is a long-time member of the Indiana Neurological Society and practices at the Fort Wayne Neurological Center (FWNC). As a private practitioner, he has a wide perspective on the day-to-day roles and responsibilities of a neurologist. Balancing clinical duties with running the business of a practice is one aspect he will bring to the presidency of the AAN. He has also participated in Neurology on the Hill this past year, bringing Indiana's neurologists' issues to lawmakers.
The INS is proud of Stevens' stepping up to take this leadership role of the AAN and wishes him well.
